The vacuum degree of the interrupter of the vacuum breaker must be kept within a certain range, this is necessary for a reliable disconnect.The vacuum degree is expressed by the absolute pressure value of the gas. The lower the absolute value is, the higher the vacuum degree is.

The circuit breaker cannot interrupt the short circuit current or even the load current when the gas pressure in the vacuum circuit breaker increases.Generally, the vacuum degree of the vacuum arc extinguishing chamber is between 104Pa and 106Pa.According to the national standard, for the vacuum circuit breaker in operation, the vacuum degree of the vacuum arc extinguishing chamber should not be greater than 6.6×102Pa.When the vacuum degree is greater than this value, the vacuum interrupter must be replaced.There are two main ways to test the vacuum degree of vacuum breaker interrupter:

1.AC voltage withstand method

If the vacuum circuit breaker is at atmospheric pressure, as long as 17 ~ 19kV AC voltage is applied to it, the medium in the vacuum circuit breaker will break. Therefore, in order to determine whether a high vacuum is maintained inside the interrupter, the vacuum interrupter can be checked by an AC 42kV voltage withstand test.At this test voltage, the vacuum interrupter will be broken down with little delay if there is not a sufficiently high vacuum inside,therefore, as long as the test pressure can last for 60 seconds, the vacuum interrupter is very good.

2. vacuum degree test method

The vacuum tester is controlled by microcomputer and completes the whole test process automatically. The vacuum data can be directly displayed, and the measuring range is 104Pa ~ 101Pa.From the software design of processing, filter out the interference factors, improve the field anti-interference ability and measurement accuracy.Filter out the interference factors, improve the field anti-interference ability and measurement accuracy.

Through the test of vacuum tester, the corresponding equipment ledger is established, various test data are recorded, and some experience data are accumulated, which provides a powerful basis for mastering the operating state of vacuum circuit breaker.
